International Appeal

Scientists call for Protection from Non-ionizing Electromagnetic Field Exposure

We are scientists engaged in the study of biological and health effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields (EMF). Based upon peer-reviewed, published research, we have serious concerns regarding the ubiquitous and increasing exposure to EMF generated by electric and wireless devices. These include–but are not limited to–radiofrequency radiation (RFR) emitting devices, such as cellular and cordless phones and their base stations, Wi-Fi, broadcast antennas, smart meters, and baby monitors as well as electric devices and infra-structures used in the delivery of electricity that generate extremely-low frequency electromagnetic field (ELF EMF).

 

Scientific basis for our common concerns

Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life.  

These findings justify our appeal to the United Nations (UN) and, all member States in the world, to encourage the World Health Organization (WHO) to exert strong leadership in fostering the development of more protective EMF guidelines, encouraging precautionary measures, and educating the public about health risks, particularly risk to children and fetal development.  By not taking action, the WHO is failing to fulfill its role as the preeminent international public health agency.

Inadequate non-ionizing EMF international guidelines

The various agencies setting safety standards have failed to impose sufficient guidelines to protect the general public, particularly children who are more vulnerable to the effects of EMF.  The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) established in 1998 the “Guidelines For Limiting Exposure To Time-Varying Electric, Magnetic, and Electromagnetic Fields (up to 300 GHz)” . These guidelines are accepted by the WHO and numerous countries around the world. The WHO is calling for all nations to adopt the ICNIRP guidelines to encourage international harmonization of standards. In 2009, the ICNIRP released a statement saying that it was reaffirming its 1998 guidelines, as in their opinion, the scientific literature published since that time “has provided no evidence of any adverse effects below the basic restrictions and does not necessitate an immediate revision of its guidance on limiting exposure to high frequency electromagnetic fields . ICNIRP continues to the present day to make these assertions, in spite of growing scientific evidence to the contrary. It is our opinion that, because the ICNIRP guidelines do not cover long-term exposure and low-intensity effects, they are insufficient to protect public health.

The WHO adopted the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classification of extremely low frequency electromagnetic field (ELF EMF) in 2002  and radiofrequency radiation (RFR) in 2011 . This classification states that EMF is a possible human carcinogen (Group 2B).  Despite both IARC findings, the WHO continues to maintain that there is insufficient evidence to justify lowering these quantitative exposure limits.

Since there is controversy about a rationale for setting standards to avoid adverse health effects, we recommend that the United Nations Environmental Programme  (UNEP) convene and fund an independent multidisciplinary committee to explore the pros and cons of alternatives to current practices that could substantially lower human exposures to RF and ELF fields. The deliberations of this group should be conducted in a transparent and impartial way. Although it is essential that industry be involved and cooperate in this process, industry should not be allowed to bias its processes or conclusions. This group should provide their analysis to the UN and the WHO to guide precautionary action.

 

Collectively we also request that:

  1. children and pregnant women be protected;
  2. guidelines and regulatory standards be strengthened;
  3. manufacturers be encouraged to develop safer technology;
  4. utilities responsible for the generation, transmission, distribution, and monitoring of electricity maintain adequate power quality and ensure proper electrical wiring to minimize harmful ground current;
  5. the public be fully informed about the potential health risks from electromagnetic energy and taught harm reduction strategies;
  6. medical professionals be educated about the biological effects of electromagnetic energy and be provided training on treatment of patients with electromagnetic sensitivity;
  7. governments fund training and research on electromagnetic fields and health that is independent of industry and mandate industry cooperation with researchers;
  8. media disclose experts’ financial relationships with industry when citing their opinions regarding health and safety aspects of EMF-emitting technologies; and
  9. white-zones (radiation-free areas) be established.

Was the Introduction of Fluoride a precursor to 5G technology?

Studies have shown a distinct similarity between fluoride toxicity and  EMR ( Electo-Magnetic Radiation) toxicity.

Research studies have shown that fluoride is accumulated in the pineal gland as opposed to the muscle and bone corresponding to it, this interrupts melatonin production which is essential for our health. The same research shows the same results from EMR. 

Fluoride exposure leads to premature deaths and diseases, damage to sperm quality, premature ageing and early onset of puberty, cancers  and alzheimers,  all of which have been attributed to low levels of EMR.

The profiles of both Fluoride and EMR show the same level of toxicity.

It is plausible that the introduction of Fluoride was a test to see the impact that EMR would have on the body.

There are a million fold differences between safety levels of EMR in different countries with Austria at 0.1 the lowest level and the UK at 1000-10.000 W/cm2, the highest.

The USA has set levels of 200-1000.

Whilst fluoride in the drinking water is set at 64% in USA and 11% in the UK.

So although there are more than 5 times higher amounts of fluoride in the water in the USA, there are 5 to 500 times more dangerous levels of EM radiation.

Interestingly, Israel stopped putting fluoride in the water supply in 2014 after a ruling by the Supreme Court implemented by the then-health- minister for Israel, Yael German, but was re-introduced in 2016 after German was voted out.

5G: What are we dealing with and is it dangerous?

The first thing we need to do is to clarify that electro magnetic radio frequencies are a danger to human, animal and  planetary health.

First generation technology was analogue, second generation was digital and around 2000 we were introduced to third generation technology, the beginning of the Smart  technology.

This technology was first discovered and experimented with by Tesla, in 1943 after he died, all his belongings were seized and analysed by the M.I.T by a man named Dr John Trump who just happens to be the uncle of Donald Trump.

Trump was reported to have revealed that his uncle told him that the destructive force of the weapons of the future would be so massive that it would be a scary world.

Tesla’s papers ended up in the hands of Rothschild’s and Israel.

When it comes to the studies of the dangers of EM and RFWs we are facing two conflicting scenarios.

On one hand we have studies by government agencies and research facilities like universities, which are always industry driven and paid for and on the other hand we have independent and medical  studies.

 The former would have us believe that there are no significant dangers from this technology. However, they have admitted that enough danger exists to warrant a  Class2B warning from the International Agency on Cancer, IAOC,the scientific arm of the W.H.O in 2011.

How many of these studies were Industry funded?

 Why are cancer treatments being suppressed by these same agencies if they care about health beyond profits?

On the other hand, we have independent research studies from medical, scientific and biological professionals who have nothing to gain from revealing the truth and who categorically state that the dangers from EM and RFWs are significant and highly dangerous.

If you go to EMFScientists.org you will find 220 doctors and scientists from 39 countries who have looked at wireless radiation and concluded that it CAN cause cancers, neurological and reproductive problems. This is from cell towers, Wi-Fi, smart phones and meters etc

In fact there are over 10,000 studies that show this to be the case.

Government Agencies and Safety Standards

So how have government agencies and industry studies managed to overlook the dangers of EM and RFWs?

When the safety standards and regulations were first set, it was in the 1980s.

This was before the massive increase in usage of the Internet, Cell Phones and Smart Meters.

  

 This was set by the International Commission on Non Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) .

 The body that sets the standards for Europe, Australia and America and Telecom Regulations the world over. 

 Whilst in the UK,  Public Health England (PHE) is the governing body.

 

The clue is in the title: non-ionising radiation.

The safety standards have been set to avoid the actual problem because the FCC  have set guidelines for thermal radiation whilst completely ignoring non thermal radiation.

In the UK,  Public Health England have NO safety information on non-thermal or biological affects of EM and RFWs. 

 NONE!

No biological effects so no studies are needed! Case closed!

But not quite.

Ionising radiation refers to radioactive substances, non- ionising is more difficult to define because it relies on the value of photon energy to define the threshold between itself and ionising radiation.

 A photon can be viewed as a travelling wave which has both electrical and magnetic components.

It is difficult to predict propagation because the same signal can be reflected, enhanced etc. depending what is between your body part and the tower/cell tower.

The threshold between non-ionising and ionising radiation was decided amongst physicists and engineers with little input from the medical profession. The subsequent denial of anything that would  be a concern for the public has been overlooked on purpose, ignored for this technology to be accepted.

Lettings agency issues every tenant with eviction notice blaming Universal Credit

A lettings agency in Grimsby has taken the “extraordinary” step of issuing hundreds of tenants with a preemptive eviction notice ahead of the roll out of Universal Credit. In a menacing letter, Gap Property, has written to its tenants warning them that if they are in receipt of any benefits under the new system they will need to prepare their rent payments now or face being ordered to leave their homes by Christmas.

Dogged by problems The note has been issued in the wake of serious problems that have dogged the roll out of universal credit, which has led to people being forced to wait a minimum of six weeks without any benefit payments.

Universal credit, which rolls six benefits into one, is due to be rolled out across North East Lincolnshire from 13 December. In its letter sent to each of its 350 properties, Gap Property states: “If you do not pay your rent we will have no option but to ask you to leave and recover losses from your guarantor. “This letter is not intended to cause you alarm, rather than to inform you of the problems that could very well occur during the roll out of Universal Credit,” it adds.

Christmas trauma Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn branded the letter unacceptable and raised the issue during Prime Minister’s Questions yesterday. “Does the Prime Minister think it’s right to put thousands of families, through Christmas, under the trauma of knowing they are about to be evicted because of Universal Credit?,” he asked. Theresa May said there had been concerns raised over people managing their budgets to pay rent. “But what we see after four months is that the number of people in arrears has fallen by a third,” she added.
